Japan Quake-Tsunami Relief

I am back to Los Angeles safely on Sunday night.

I would like to say thank to all of you who have supported my volunteer trip to Japan.

Dear folks,

As all of you know, in the afternoon on March 11th 2011, magnitude 9.0 earthquake has attacked the Tohoku region of Japan, and the earthquake triggered extremely destructive tsunami waves of up to 38.9 meters (128 ft).

Some of you might know that I, Atsuki, am from Yamagata in the Tohoku region, and my hometown is about 30 miles away from where you see all the quake-tsunami disaster.

Fortunately, all of my family and friends in town were safe from tsunami, and their lives are back to normal by now. However, since I am very familiar with Tohoku area, I have decided to visit Japan and join the volunteers working in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture where I can easily reach from my house by a car.

In addition to participating a volunteer work, I would like to purchase and bring in as much supplies and necessary goods for quake-tsunami victims as possible such as bottled waters, milk for babies, diapers, foods, soaps, clothes, and many more. Also, I need to purchase equipment for mud-shoveling or house cleaning such as a pair of boots, shovels, a workwear, and gas.

I would very much appreciate your help for Tohoku, where I am from. All donations will be used to purchase the goods listed above.

July 24th - August 8th
